Hot days ahead: Adaptation policies in Lanzarote can't wait.

Adapted from an original post on Lanzarote Futuro.

Lanzarote is no exception to global climate change, and data from Aemet recorded at Lanzarote Airport confirms this (fig. 1). Record-breaking years like 2023 and 2010 were the hottest on record, closely followed by 2024, which had a mean annual temperature of 22.3°C (fig. 1). This is almost 1°C higher than the 1991-2020 reference period, and around 2°C higher than the 1970s average.

Tourism in the Canary Islands - Part I: A booming industry.

Located at the crossover of three continents, the Canary Islands are well known as one of the main tourists destinations for Europeans. About me

author picture

Hello!

Welcome to my web. This is a small personal project I put together during a career break (and, along the way, gave me the chance to pick up some basic HTML and CSS skills). Here, I share few small data analysis projects I work on during my spare time.

But a bit about me. My name is Oliver, and I'm a molecular biologist (Ph.D.) and data analyst with nearly two decades of experience in biotech and biopharma research. During this time, I've had the chance to build solid expertise in data analysis as well as wet-lab skills like genetic engineering and high-throughput screenings.

Curious by nature, I enjoy learning new things, solving problems and exploring new challenges, especially when it involves using data to understand complex systems and address real-world issues.

If you'd like to know more about me, feel free to check out my CV, or just drop me a message using the form below.
