Molecular biologist (Ph.D.) with a flair for data science and 18+ years of experience in the biotech and biopharma industries. During this time, I have acquired expertise in a broad set of molecular biology skills, which include, among others, high-throughput screenings and genetic engineering, and advanced data analytics of complex biological data (including the analysis of relatively large datasets).
With an analytical and data-driven mindset, I am passionate about data science, and I have a great interest in its potential to transform the world. Throughout my career in scientific research, I have always aimed to bridge the gap between wet-lab research and data analytics, implementing solutions to extract and communicate relevant insights.
Currently on a career break to further develop my data analytics skills and to enjoy time with my family, I am now seeking opportunities that align with my interest in applying my skills to develop data-based solutions to different real-world scenarios. Team player with a natural curiosity, I enjoy learning, taking on new challenges, and continuously growing both professionally and personally.
Licenciado. It refers to a 5-year B.Sc.-like degree that used to exist in Spain until the launching of the European Higher Education Area.
My former colleagues define me as an outgoing person with good sense of humour, flexible, and with great interpersonal skills. I am curious, with passion for learning new things, and always with an optimistic view of life.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, dancing (I love Cuban salsa), going for a bike ride, running, swimming, and watching sports in general.
